Howard Vineyard is a second-generation family owned business. Over the past 20 years we have built a reputation for premium grape growing in the Adelaide Hills; one of Australia’s most exciting regions.

The Adelaide Hills is about more than wine It is a way of thinking, we welcome the new and challenge the traditions with a youthful confidence. The Adelaide Hills is where we chose to make our wine and live our lives.

Our extensive range of estate grown wines will take you on a journey through the Adelaide Hills from Lobethal to Mount Barker. Our wines are light to medium body with vibrant flavours and great natural acidity and made with minimal intervention to showcase the quality and true expression of our vineyards. Our two distinct vineyards put us in a luxurious position of being able to produce high quality cool climate red and white wines, with our Lobethal Vineyard being cooler than the average temperature for the Adelaide Hills and higher rainfall perfect for our wines which are naturally high in acidity. Our Mt Barker vineyard is slightly warmer than the average temperature perfect for ripening cool climate red wines.

Our wines have been divided into 3 ranges.

Howard Vineyard Range; 100% Mount Barker fruit. This range of wines are light, fresh, crisp and fun. Made to be enjoyed immediately. A glass of Shiraz Cabernet on a Tuesday night with pasta or a bottle of Rosé on a sunny Saturday afternoon with your mates.

Clover Range; Hand-picked and hand-made, these wines are distinctively Adelaide Hills and an authentic expression of our vineyards. Picked at optimal ripeness they display lean flavours and great natural acidity. Perfectly matched to Australian seafood sitting in your favourite restaurant or steak cooked on the BBQ in the backyard with your mates.

Amos Range; These wines are only produced in exception vintages, from the best fruit in the best blocks in our vineyards. All the fruit is hand-picked, basket pressed and put into the finest French oak barrels. These wines delivery exquisite balance and elegance and represent the pinnacle of our vineyards and wine making. Share with loved ones.


Howard Vineyard will be focusing on the following 3 varieties for the 2019 festival; Sparkling, Rosé and Pinot Gris.

Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay -
100% from our Lobethal Vineyard and is the first cab off the rank each vintage meaning it is fresh and bright with some beautiful fruit character upfront. Our sparkling pinot noir chardonnay is a staple of our brand, made from 2 primary Adelaide Hills varieties – Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Rosé – We currently have 3 Rosé on our list. We love growing, making and drinking Rosé. Our HowardVineyard Rosé is light, fresh, crisp and fun. Our Clover Cabernet Franc Rosé is heavily inspired by French Rosé, made from 100% Cabernet Franc this Rosé is hand-picked from our Mount Barker vineyard, whole bunch pressed and partially barrel fermented – adding texture to this beautiful savoury Rosé. This wine has won back to back trophies at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show – 2017 and 2018 Trophy for Best Rosé in Show – Adelaide Hills Wine Show.

Pinot Gris – Well suited to the Adelaide Hills this wine is the perfect accompaniment to modern Australian cuisine. Picked at 3 different levels of ripeness, to create layers/texture within the wine. Hand-picked, this wine is distinctively Adelaide Hills and an authentic expression of our Lobethal vineyard.
